Cascadia – Whitecaps vs Timbers vs Sounders – 2015

SEATTLE SOUNDERS FC WIN!

The Cascadia Responsibility Challenge is a competition between three MLS clubs: the Portland Timbers, Seattle Sounders FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The winner of the Cascadia Responsibility Challenge will be the MLS club with the most total points at the end of the 2015 regular season. Points are earned when supporters pledge to be designated drivers at MLS games and when supporters engage in the program on social media.

The Cascadia Responsibility Challenge is proof, once again, that Responsibility Really Does Have Its Rewards!

Rivalry games are those games when any competing club hosts another competing club. Competing clubs include the Portland Timbers, the Seattle Sounders FC and the Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

At these games, special promotions will be in place to encourage supporters to pledge to be designated drivers for their friends and family that day and to pledge to be a responsible supporter by promising to never drive drunk. Each designated driver and responsible supporter pledge will help their favorite club earn points in the Cascadia Responsibility Challenge.

The 2015 Cascadia Responsibility Challenge is a competition between three MLS clubs: the Portland Timbers, the Seattle Sounders FC and the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The Sounders FC won the Cascadia Responsibility Challenge by earning the most total points at the end of the 2015 regular season.

In addition to bragging rights, the Sounders FC will earn a pretty cool trophy and supporters of all the clubs will enjoy a safe and family-friendly experience at the stadium. The Cascadia Responsibility Challenge is proof, once again, that Responsibility really does have its Rewards!

The clubs need help from their supporters in order to earn points in the Cascadia Responsibility Challenge.

For every supporter who makes a pledge to be a designated driver at the stadium or promises to be responsible by never driving drunk during regular season home games, that club will earn 1 point in the Cascadia Responsibility Challenge.

Clubs can earn an extra point for each supporter who likes the Cascadia Responsibility Challenge posts on the clubs’ Facebook pages, retweets or favorites tweets on Twitter and likes posts on Instagram. Extra points will be added to the designated driver point total and the responsible fan point total to determine each club’s total score. The club with the greatest total score wins!

Designated drivers must meet the following critera:

  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Promise not to drink alcohol at the game
  • Provide safe and sober transportation for their group

Supporters may only pledge to be designated drivers once per game.
