SAN DIEGO PADRES WIN!

The Budweiser Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge is a competition between three of the NL West Clubs: the Los Angeles Dodgers, the San Diego Padres and the San Francisco Giants. The winner of Budweiser Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge was the MLB Club with the most total points at the end of the 2015 regular season. Points were earned when fans pledged to be Good Sports – designated drivers – at MLB games. 

In 2014, the participating NL West Clubs had a record number of fans pledge to be designated drivers – 114,184 in total. The Clubs competing consider the Budweiser Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge a success when even more fans pledge to be responsible in 2015. The Dodgers, Padres and Giants combined designated driver total for 2015 was 116,244 – making the Budweiser Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge a huge success!

The Budweiser Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge is proof, once again, that Responsibility Really Does Have Its Rewards!

Rivalry games are those games when a competing NL West Club hosts another competing NL West Club. Competing NL West Clubs include the Los Angeles Dodgers, the San Diego Padres and the San Francisco Giants.

At these games, special promotions were in place to encourage fans to pledge to be Budweiser Good Sport designated drivers for their friends and family that day. Each designated driver helped their favorite Club earn one point in the Budweiser Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge.

TEAM (Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management) Coalition is an alliance of professional and collegiate sports, entertainment facilities, concessionaires, stadium service providers, the beer industry, distillers, broadcasters, governmental traffic safety experts, and others working together to promote responsible drinking and positive fan behavior at sports and entertainment facilities. www.TEAMCoalition.org.

TEAM Coalition offers designated drivers a chance to win tickets to the World Series® with the Responsibility Has Its Rewards campaign.

The Padres won the 2015 Budweiser Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge by earning the most total points at the end of the 2015 regular season.

In addition to bragging rights, the Padres earned a pretty cool trophy and fans of all the Clubs enjoyed a safe and family-friendly experience at the ballparks. The Clubs need help from their fans in order to earn points in the Budweiser Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge.

For every fan who makes a pledge to be a designated driver at the ballpark during regular season home games, that Club will earn one point in the Budweiser Good Sport Designated Driver Challenge.

Designated drivers must meet the following critera:

  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Promise not to drink alcohol at the game
  • Provide safe and sober transportation for their group

Fans may only pledge to be designated drivers once per game.
